EU:n uusi tietosuoja-asetus astuu voimaan 25.5.2018. Asetus on puhuttanut etenkin saksalaisia blogiystäviäni. Itse olen tutkaillut asiaa ja tullut - ainakin toistaiseksi - siihen päätelmään, että minulla ei ole hätää. En myy mitään enkä kerää lukijatietoja mihinkään rekistereihin. Se vaikutus uudella asetuksella on, etten jatkossa järjestä arvontoja blogissani.
The new EU Data Protection Regulation will enter into force on 25 May 2018. The decree has aroused discussions especially among my German blog friends. Personally, I have been contemplating the issue and become - at least so far - to the conclusion that I do not have to worry. I do not sell anything and do not collect reader data into any records. The effect of the new regulation is though, that I will not make any lotteries on my blog in the future.
Die neue EU-Datenschutzverordnung tritt am 25. Mai 2018 in Kraft. Persönlich habe ich das Problem betrachtet und meine Schlussfolgerung ist - zumindest so weit - dass ich keine Sorgen zu machen bedürfe. Ich verkaufe nichts und sammle keine Leserdaten in irgendwelche Register. Aber die neue Verordnung hat zur Folge, dass ich in der Zukunft auf meinem Blog nicht keine Gewinnspiele machen werde.
What bloggers need to stop doing:
- Auto opt ins
- Opt in freebies to get email addresses for one purpose then use them for another. If you gained email addresses this way you should go out to gain consent or you may be in breach of GDPR
- Share data with anyone else who wasn’t named at the point where data was provided, for example, a brand who asks for the email addresses of giveaway entrants
- Stop collecting data where not necessary, for example, contact form/comments
- Sharing named brand PR contacts without permission
Things bloggers need to start doing:
- Displaying a privacy notice anytime they collect data
- Have a data processing and security policy
- Be able to evidence permissions
- Have robust security anywhere data is processed
